Issue Areas

Modern Energy Infrastructure

As the nation’s energy system transitions from fossil fuels to renewables, an increasingly daunting challenge is how to transport energy produced by wind and solar generation, which are often positioned in areas away from population centers, to the businesses and residents that need to consume the electricity. Currently, this is primarily accomplished by long-range transmission lines. But today’s electrical grids aren’t up to the task of the growing demand for electricity in the U.S.

Repair Done Right Coalition

The Repair Done Right coalition promotes the safe and secure repair of electronic devices. Our aim is to ensure products are serviced by properly trained and vetted repair professionals, consumers are protected from cyberattacks and other threats to their devices, and laws continue to protect manufacturers’ intellectual property as they innovate and develop new products.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been around for years in some fashion. The emergence of generative AI tools that are able to create text and visual images has understandably captured the world’s attention. Sound public AI policy should harness the power of AI to encourage innovation, but also address immediate and realistic concerns such as algorithmic bias and discrimination, deepfakes that mislead the public and are used for nefarious means, and incorrect outputs produced by untrustworthy models.
